Anyone with oil pressure gauge...quick question about the oil sender wire..
I have an electrical Oil pressure gauge and i need to know where the to put the sender into the engine so that it can check pressure....i have no idea where it is or what it looks like....someone please help, i'm taking a break installing it..thanks..
you'll need a T-fitting to put into the stock sending unit location (for the dummy light). so you can use both the stock one and the new one.
the stock oil pressure fitting is on the back of the block, just under the oil filter about 3" to the driver side. you'll see a wiring harness that goes in there.

if i have that i don't need the stock...but how do i take it out...it looks like it needs to be wrenched out? or can i twist it? if i remove it, does oil spill out? thanks...
same kinda question here...Just about to install mine (and saw the CV boot is weeping grease, but that's another pain in the ***) and mine looks like it's above the filter...I was going to take it out to see what the size was with my adaptor kit and then go buy the proper T...does anyone know what the sender thread and size is on a 93 civic ex? d16z6...probably the same for most hondas.
Due to the fact that our cars have fairly high RPM's which leads to higher vibrations I would reccomend against putting the T directly upon the block. Put an adaptor so you can run some SS line off the block and then find a place to put a T off the engine. This way the block is much less prone to crack due to the vibrations of the mass of the T adaptor away from the block.

the fitting screws into a much larger fitting, not the block itself. even on the slim chance the housing cracked, you wouldn't be cracking the block.
I think you'll want to keep the stock sender, otherwise your oil pressure light will stay on.

I have been trying to install my Electric Oil Pressure gauge for about a week. Everytime I think I am ready, I need some more ****. You need a metric 1/8 BSPT to 1/8 NPT fitting. You can order it from Autometer. You will need 2 1/8 NPT fittings and 1/8 nylon tubing, also from Autometer. In my case, I had a friend make me a custom billet Tee. If you go this route, be warned, the Autometer kit only comes with 1 1/8 NPT fitting, so you will need to order a second one. The last damn thing to happen, the stock oil pressure sender wire is not long enough to reach the firewall. So you have to get around this. I am going to try snipping the Oil pressure wire where it enters the wiring harness on the driver side. It is a yellow wire w/ a red stripe. What a pain in the ***. Portland Rocks!
