Converting ac to r134
Ok so a quick, but dumb question. I have all the stuff and i am trying to locate the low pressure plug and high presuure plugs on a 92 prelude si. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pics would be helpful too.
if you look at the radiator. go about 2 inches behind it and you will see two lines (one big and one small)
those are the ac lines. just follow those till you see a plug. obviously the big tube is low pressure and the smaller tube is higher.
i'm doing this from memory of the engine bay. i think you can search for pics of engine bays.

are you doing a cheap *** retrofit or one that will probably last a lot longer? also why are you retrofitting? why nto go to Freeze12? it works as well as r12 and is nearly as cheap as r134....plus its 100% compatibel with r12 systems.

yeah, i've never seen this stuff around either. just r134a.

I just got a oil and freon conversion kit... was really easy, can't really mess up. Ran really cold for quite a while... but to bad I think I have a small leak. I would do it again... I have no complaints

I hadn't heard of it either. Seems pretty cool though, is compatible with R12 lubrication, so you don't have to change everything out!

freeze12 is a veyr nice alternative, since it is damn near the same capabilities as r12, jstu less toxic, and it cools quite well. If I had known about it when I did my retrofit (which has worked perfectly for years, jsut nto as cold as a 12 based system) i would have stuck with freeze12.
when i did my retrofit i replaced the compressor (it had failed already), replaced the drier, teh expansion valve, flushed all teh lines, replaced all o-rings, and put a more efficient condenser in. then i added the new oil, and charged it up....

I thought all preludes 92 and up were R134a? is it true you have to be a dealer or mechanic to buy r12 parts? just something I heard from someone, trying to see if it was true.

thankjs...looks like I gotta get my dad to fix my damn a/c for me. I was gonna do it, but Im not licensed to get R12
