That done, you're a moron. When you see that, it's pure unburnt gasoline coming out of the tailpipe. If you really want to, pour gas into your exhaust and light a match to it. It'll be a really big fireball once your car blows up.

and besides this being an ultimately retarded question, it is a question none-the-less, a car backfires (like some of these guys said) when there's unburnt gas that goes into the exhaust piping, the gas ignites and is forced out ur exhaust thus, the backfire..

Now if u slap bigger injectors in there, and turn ur a/f ratio richer, u'll get backfires..but it'll fu8k up ur mpg, sound like ****, AND be harmful to various parts of the exhaust system..

Or maybe you're not talking about backfiring? Maybe you're talking about that low popping noise you can get out of any exhuast if you let ur foot off the gas lightly in 1st, the air rushes out and makes a "put put" type of noise w/ air for like half a second... Which that just has to do with your exhaust...but then again, you did say "backfire" in your title so I don't know what u wawnt.... In any event, u have a buddy club exhaust, and if your car's not backfiring now and ur plugs aren't roasted, ur not running rich, for all tenths and purposes, your car is running fine as far as these 2 concepts go, so why make it run worse to get the backfire? (along with your ultimately bad mpg), and why remove a good exhaust for a lesser one to get that sound.... Actually I can't say a lesser one, my N1 made that lil putting sound if u let off the gas nice nad light...but that thing was loud as hell - you could make a person deaf with that thing.... Just leave ur car the way it is..but whatever, it's your car..

 

hmmm my car backfired all the time w/out my cat, it also shot about 2ft. fireballs each time too. It looked pretty cool, but i ultimatly had to destroy the ricer within and put my cat back in. fyi the purpose of a cat is to burn the rest of the unburnt fuel to reduce emmisions.

 

Rice + Fireballs = Fried Rice... / FTW!

Huge cams'll do it, but you should do your best to tune that **** out.
