Default ECU chipping question.

Is it possible to chip an ECU and use it with my automatic transmission? If so what software would I need. I haven't been able to convert to a manual yet but I have stuff lying around that I can chip a spare ECU with if it is possible. Thanks for any help but I doubt it can be done with anything like Uberdata.

the auto/manual switch has nothing to do with Crome or Uberdata.
As long as the ECU is for an auto trans either program will work fine with an auto trans.

Will the program allow me to adjust the shift points, and I would like to adjust for an intake and header.

if all you have is an intake and header it's not really worth tuning the car. You're too close to stock.
IMO stick the money somewhere else.

I'm not doing it for Horsepower I just want to do it for the heck of it. I want to know if I am capable of it. I've done pretty much everything else to cars and I wanted to try to tweak an ECU. I have everything I need except the burner and it's only like $35 off eBay. Just thought I'd give it a try because it cost my friend a lot to have John Vega (phearable.net) tune his boosted hatch.

Automatics = Not supported by Crome, Uberdata, Hondata, Neptune.

Thats what I thought originally. Thanks for someone finally agreeing with me. I thought that all of the freeware programs were incompatable with the auto ECU. I know a guy at my school chipped his auto when he went turbo but he said it cost a lot of $$$.

when u tune your ecu.. you cannot adjust the shift points or how hard it shifts or anything...

all u do is tune the fuel mixture, ignition, max rpm and other things like that.. FOR THE ENGINE... im guaranteed positive.. you can run crome, uberdata, hondata etc with an auto ecu.. ****.. my tune worked in my auto p28 until i converted the ecu to manual to shut the cel off..

if you think im wrong.. go register at http://www.pgmfi.org and ask in the newbs section.. they will point u in the right direction
