neither one is v-tec, and the b7 head is a 6 valve and the b8 head is an 8 valve

Both are non vtec. B7 is a 16 valve found in the 92-95 DX. B8 is the 8 valve version of it. Never actually seen one tho. Isn't the B8 the HF motor?

Oh, by the way, vtec heads OBD1 are Z#. Like, D16Z6 and D15Z1. The 96+ are D16Y8. I don't know the E-Vtec from 96+.

The D15b8 is from the 92-95 civic cx,,,i guess its the obd1 equal to the 88-91 d15b6 hf motor....both get great gas mileage,8 valve,4 injectors,1.5l,long tranny,etc...
