Default Front Wheel Stud Removal - 1998 Accord

Yesterday I stripped out the thread on a wheel stud on the front passenger side of my '98 accord. I can't seem to figure out how to remove the disk that the studs are mounted on. How do I remove the peice in this pic?

If you are trying to remove the hub, I think all you need to do there is unstake the hub nut and it should come right off if I remember right.

I ended up having to replace my hub, bearing, and race because some jackass loosened my lug nuts and it ate up all that stuff before I could even make it home.

If you striped the stud, it might just be easier to buy a new hub and stuff because of the issues of pressing the race and bearing together. I bought new stuff, and I think it only cost me around $30-45 at the dealership.

The whole process isn't fresh on my mind, so I might be a bit off, but hopefully you will figure out what you need to do.

the hub is pressed on. if u jsut want to replace the stud, just hammer out the old one, then install a new one.

This usually destroys the bearing.

Some cars there's enough room to push the stud out the back, others the stud can't come out because the steering knuckle is in the way. Look for an opening or some kind of cut-out where the stud can go, otherwise you have to press out the hub & replace the wheel bearing.
