Spare key won't start car?

Spare key won't start car?
When i try to start the car with the spare key it cranks but will not start. Then when i use the factory key it will start with the first crank. Does anybody know why this is?

Yeah or hold the spare in your right hand, run around a tree three times, expletive your nieghbors cat, and chant something stupid for 15 mins. If your neighbors don't have a cat you're outta luck.

Yeah and I think the keys cost something like 60 bucks.

Would you rather have an inexpensive key that will start a car that's not around because someone stole it?
