Compression test #'s <- Help me diagnose!!
Last night I did a comp check on a 99 B18B1 and here are the results:
90-110-110-130
These numbers don't look too good to me. I thought they were suposed to be about 10psi apart and I've seen B18b go over the 200 across also. Are these pretty bad? Does it mean that my motor is that bad? This is for a daily driver anyways, no revings or any hard drivings. Would that be alright?

I will try with the motor warmed up. But with those #'s even though they don't look good, you guys think I can just drive this thing as a beater? I do have a gsr motor laying in the garage but don't really want to put it in.

you can drive anything as a beater. just remember that when the motor lets go, it's you who is stuck on the road. not us guys on the internet. lol
personally i think that's pretty low. especially if that's is at WOT. but do another test when the car is warmed up, and do it at WOT if you didn't before.

What's WOT? I'll check again with the car warmed up. I got this 94 integra with this motor for $450. Needed a little work and I got it to run. Timing was off too. You guys think this motor can die on me pretty quick with those #'s? It's for my girl and I dont want to put a GSR in it because she probably will drive like a grandma.
WOT= Wide Open Throttle
Step 1. Pull out all Spark Plugs
Step 2. Pull out 15a ECU Fuse under the hood of your car
Step 3. Either bungee the throttle wide open or floor it when you test it and dont let off until you are done cranking the motor over
Step 4. Install Compression Tester into Cylinder
Step 5. Crank motor 4-8 times until the gague stops climbing ( mine continues to climb after 5 strokes)
Step 6. Repeat Steps 4 & 5 until all cylinders are done
Make sure engine is warm

that's pretty low. have you done a tune up on it? lol i would lookin into a new motor. BUT, if it's for your gf, and the car runs ok. then just leave it.
my gf drives my ek with a 99 LS motor with ITR tranny. compression is 200 straight across. even with the CEL. lol

thats still lower than the minimum rating. factory spec is atleast 135, with no more that a 28 psi difference between cylinders. does the engine have a shitton of miles? i got 150 across in my 92 LS, and that was only 3 jumps of the needle.

If you have a cheaper compression gauge, it could yield low numbers. Did you add oil to the cylinders and repeat? If the compression increases, you may have a problem.
