I have an 88 auto CRX Dx and when I first warm up the car and drive it, I put it in normal D4 and drive it and it revs the **** out of first (meaning till like 5k before it will shift) and once it finally shifts, it will start working fine after that......any ideas on what the problem could be??? I tried to switch to second, and then back to D4 and all it does is rev up.....? I have never had an auto car and am wondering if there is some special way to get it to shift w/o reving the **** out of it.......any help is appreciated Sorry if this is a newb question but i have never owned an automatic....

 

sounds like a fluid problem, have you changed the fluid recently or checked the level? If your using the wrong stuff it could cause that

 

it hasnt been changed in a long time............ Its really weird, once it revs high enough for it to shift, it will work fine after that....

 

check the fluid level right now, yes right now im waiting
