Default stock b16 vs semi built b16 numbers on 8lbs...

I just had a low compression b16 motor built with 9:1 pistons, rods etc and supertech valvetrain with GSR cams the car made 220 hp on 8.7lbs of boost revving to 8k with a base tune did'nt do many pulls..

On my stock b16 motor,b16 cams etc with the same 8.7lbs of boost it made 262hp at 8200..

I knew i would lose some hp going low compression but i was hoping with the .5mm oversized valves and valvejob plus the GSR cams i'd get close to the same 262hp that the stock motor made but i guess that was wishful thinking..

Now i'm hoping for 300hp on 15lbs after installing the 3 bar..I was told my 60 trim is'nt even in its effcieny till i get close to 15lbs..

I was actually told to run 17-18lbs but i'm scaried of cracking a sleeve..

Check your tune, 9:1 will take quite a bit more timing than your 10.2:1 motor. You're looking at maybe a 10 HP loss from compression after you adjust the timing, but you should be easily making more power with the GSR cams even with lower compression.

Yeah everything is the same the only difference is a different block with weisco pistons, eagle rods, arp big rod bolts, bearings etc. The head got a 5 angle valvejob all supertech valvetrain..

I was told the GSR cams love more boost and when i turn up the boost next saturday is when they'll shine..

I really just got a quick tune to put some miles on the motor nothing drastic...

I plan to run atleast 1 bar 14.5psi but my builder wants me to run 16-17lbs i'm just scaried of cracking my sleeve..

i'm looking for 300hp to the wheels and a low 12sec car..

your not going to crack a sleeve if you have a good tunner. You can run 20+psi on stock sleeves with pistons and rods..... but if you trust your tunner than you will be fine with pushing 16-20 psi

your motor could probably make around 400whp with a good tunner
