Default new ignition set up= new tune?



buddy of mine got an ignition upgrade and is wondering if he needs a new tune now?


msd digital 6??
msd cap
msd coil

if its not nessasary to get a new tune, how much would this stuff help if he got a new tune

I would say yes, to be safe. BTW what is his set-up? If he is making 450whp or under i say he just use 100% stock ignition. No need for all that upgraded ignition.

simple set up making 375whp

880's
p&p head with i forgot which valve train
forged internals on stock sleeves

hes not looking to get much more for the street, so would the ignition be pointless have put on since hes making under 450whp?

Exactly! This is why he should use 100% stock igntion for that set-up he is using.

stock honda ignition is really good. i had the aem cdi twin ignition box on my car and it caused more problems then helped. we put it back to stock and the car made 618@8000rpm on 25lbs. stick with stock

I must be one of the few MSD success stories.... I have never had a problem with mine and I think for just cruising around my car runs alot smoother, MSD 6A, Blaster Coil, B Cap and 8.5mm wires on an S300.
