anybody ever drove their teg and encounter an instant of what seems like a "dead" motor? like it would shut itself off and then operate like nothing happen. i was around the 4k rpm and gsr just stop. i tried gassing it but that didnt work.but like i said it comes back shortly after. not sure what happens beyond 4k because since its been doing that, the gsr has been sitting on blocks and jackstands. any ideas?
Yea that happens to some of us on here, unfortunately I haven't came across an exact answer for why yet, but I do know that the majority of us have gotten it to stop by just doing a basic tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, ect.

yea, thought that could be one of the reasons. already did a oil change, about to change plugs cap n rotor and wires. let me know when someone finds out.
Make sure you check the attachment of the cables to the battery terminals. It's easy to check and an intermittent connection could cause the problem you describe.
Interesting to see this thread, about 4 months ago I was driving in the freeway and hit a pot hole and my car turned off. I mean completly off, couldn't even bring it back on even buy clutching it...pulled to the right side of the road, and tried to crank it and nothing. I had to get towed home, then once we got it off the fu%ker turned on like nothing...I still don't know what it was.

Sometimes an electrical malfunction such as you describe is caused by an intermittent electrical connection. For example, a cable attachment, a piece of wiring, or a connector may have two pieces of metal or wire that are in contact. However, the pot hole exerts enough force on the car that that connection is momentarily separated by .000001 mm, current doesn't flow, and everything shuts down. After the car sits for a while, the metal/wire pieces move .000001 mm and get back into contact and everything works as before.
