Default Stock Cd player location swap with aftermarket cd player possible?

I want to get rid of the Honda cd player that is located behind the cup holders in my 97 EX. I just want to upgrade the unit that doesn't take the main functioning away from the radio buttons by the climate control. In other words, I want a cd player that can read MP3 cds but look like the stock Honda cd player, that just has a slit for the cd and nothing else (no screen, no buttons). Do any of you know if one is made or available, and where?

Hey thanks for that suggestion! Dang though...that guy wants 140 for that thing which he *claims* is brand new.

Anyone else have anymore ideas?

im gonna call bullshit on what that guy claims, granted it would probably fit where your cd player is in your civic, but i dont see how that would work with an accord 98-02 (i havent seen other ones) but i know that there is no way that **** would fit under the current oem radio cause they r din radios. but expletive for 140 id get a nice aftermarket unit and pop the oem one out unless your really in love with the way your oem unit looks.

I just checked Handa-Accessories.com and the single disc players they have will not play MP3's...

And you're not going to find a slave unit that retains control through the factory radio.

If you're concerned about looks, just buy an aftermarket radio, mount it down behind the cup holders, and leave the factory radio up top, powered up by teeing off the harness to the aftermarket unit.

So that would mean i'm gonna have to tap into every wire in the stock radio wire harness to another harness going to the aftermarket radio? That seems like alot of soldering.... hmmmm

Boo hoo. You gotta do what you gotta do... It's not that hard to extend some wires.
