Two stupid question for you all...=)
1)I notice there is two sides on dipstick for my ap1, one of the side is always read one complete X lower. For example, when i check the oil on side A, the oil level is full and when i turn the dipstick over, the side B reads one complete X lower
something like this..{}=oil level
MIN {XXXXX} MAX SIDE A
MIN {XXXX}X MAX SIDE B
there's no indication of hot or cold side(like many of the domestic that i serviced before) of the dipstick..
Is it normal?
2)It just me or there's alot more brake dust on the rear wheels? Stupid question i know but..I know it's a rear wheel drive and the drive wheel are wider but I always thought 70-80% of the braking power is from the front(plus weight transfer).
Then where's all the extra dust coming from?
-the set of pads are new, rotor are flat as the mid west, the rear parking brake level is well within OEM spec.
-no drafting/launch/clutch drop/donut/burnout/E brake sliding here
The only thing that i could think of is the aftermarket pad that i use, they are axxis ultimate. Maybe i got a bad badge of pad for the rear?
Again, thank you for bearing with my stupid questions

i wish i still have my ap1 so i have dip stick to look at and see what youre talking about ... are both sides identical though?
Both sides are not identical, I'm thinking that's just the way Honda stamps it, but it's ALMOST the same on all the S's I've seen.
It sounds like the pads, because on both the AP1 and the AP2, the front pads put up a hell of a lot more dust.

that's one problem solve, I am always scare to overfill the motor, so one side is always being filled to MAX while the other side is one complete X lower.
Not a big problem i check my oil and car fluid couple times a week, i just want to make sure i don't have a weirdo dipstick and blew the motor due to not enough oil or foaming from overfill.
and about the rear pad, there's like at least double the amount for the rear wheels, almost like i am running stock front and super high temperture full metallic race pad
Thanks you project guys

urnot gonna blow ur motor because ur oil is 90% full instead of 100%...i need to clean my fronts almost everyday after daily driving, the rears really dont get any break dust, justdirt off the road that needs to be cleaned...so theres somethngup there, i think the pads u bought...thats why i changed to ceramic pads about 24-25k ago. no problems good breaking, dont need to clean every other day
i had some axxis on my teg and they dusted like no tommorrow, it was crazy, drive 50 miles and you could see it alreayd.
as far as the dipstick i haven't noticed that...
is it just me or does the S dipstick make the oil look cleaner that it is. on my last oil change the oil looked perfect, smelled fine too, once i changed it, the oil was pretty dark, i think the integra dipstick is more accurate on the color of the oil,

Mine does the exact same thing. check your oil first thing in the morning and make sure you are on flat ground. Then be sure to pull your dipstick straight out, and not out to the side (may have to wipe off and recheck). Both sides should now be identical. This is the only way that I have found that will produce an accurate reading on both sides of the dipstick. Hope this helps.
