HELP!!! Distributor Problem gone bad
I posted two weeks ago about my 96 GS-R having a bad distributor and the mechanic's i sent it too asking $800 large for the repair.
my friend had a distributor ordered and installed it. When we went to crank the car, it would not fire, and cranked weak. we nearly cranked battery dead before deciding to check the spark plugs. Checked for spark - no spark. so we Replaced two ignition fuses in the fuse box, first, an all plastic fuse shaped perfectly like a fuse, however no metal inserts (which we think the mechanic who had my car may have put in the box), and another blown ignition fuse. Checked for spark - sparks now but still cranks weakly.
Called the mechanic that had my car for a couple days, he said he thought that the problem was that the car was flooded from over cranking, and he denied knowing about the plastic fuse in the ignition box.
it did smell like gas, so we clear flood mode cranked it for awhile, but that didn't help. same problem, weak crank, won't fire.
just to check, removed head cover, timing belt is still strong.
Any ideas?
