Default firing problem... car dying

ok, i'll keep this as short as possible. About 2 months ago my car died and wouldn't start back up. I found out it was blown fuse the (ACG IG fuse to be exact,) changed it and it runs ok... still throwing a 9 code, so it was running spotty and dying while it would rev under 1000 rpm. I still have yet to buy a new distributor to solve the problem of my car running spotty. Today driving home it died, wouldn't start and it was the fuse (again ACG IG.) the only fuse i had to change it out with was a 20 amp. it got me home, but it died as soon as i pulled in. tried to change the fuse several times and it blew while trying to crank. it also blows when i turn the key to the ignition position. i would think it was the ignition switch but the car tries to crank, which wouldn't happen. so could it be i just need to replace the distributor? PLEASE HELP!!!

if you're blowing a fuse, make sure your engine bay grounds are clean and tight before anything else.

i'm not sure you can tell just by looking at them. i had a bad ground until i unbolted them, scrubbed the wires and bolts with a wirebrush, scrubbed the chassis points with a wirebrush, and reattached.

did that. by appearing i mean the ground it self was good and the wire appeared to be in good condition. i think it may have something to do with the problem in the distributor (cylinder position sensor.)
