i've let the air out numerous times, but the car still runs way hotter than it did when i just had the stock fans and radiator...
the thermostat opens and closes...
i drive around today and after 15 minutes or so the coolant starts to boil in the overflow...

I had the same problem after my koyo/slim fam install. checked radiator cap, thermostat and it would start overheating after all the coolant either got eaten up or boiled out. Turned out to be headgasket for me.
leakdown test?
leakdown test?
try a greddy radiator cap or somethin like that. is ur rad cap in good shape? also try takin out the thermostat, better flow of coolant. hth

True, in my case I was already boiling out coolant before the radiator swap. Was it a used radiator?

how could i determine this while the radiator is in the car?
the whole assembly gets hot, so i dont know.
i also picked up a genuine koyo radiator cap.. the heating continues
