I have a pioneer eq-7600 install to a alpine 7998 headunit. Why is it that everytime i turn the car off then turn it back on my eq reset itself? Is there a certain wire that im suppose to wired the eq too?

 

you prolly have the constant and switched 12 volt reversed...

don't have the wiring scheme in front of me, but it is usually common that yellow is constant 12v (memory) and red is switched 12v (ignition/accessory)

 

So your switchin from a Pioneer to Alpine?
Pioneers have all theres marked,and as said its the red one.
Alpines it should be the same.

My question would be, why do you have an EQ hooked up to a HU that has not only a parametric EQ but also a 7 band graphic EQ, not to mention the digital time correction and up to 24dB/oct slope HP, LP and BP x-over in both a 2way or 3way configuration, [digital] among a lot of other things that the Pioneer EQ essentially defeats to do some, but not all, of the things the Alpine already does? 94

 

good question my answer to that is i have no idea how to tune the alpine 7998 headunit. The pioneer eq seems to be a lot easier to mess with
