installed ws on ep3 today...louder than expected.. got a question
hey guys
i installed a WS today on my gf ep3 everything went smooth
she got it used in great cond. it was on a 02-04 ep. hers is a 05
used new gaskets didnt have trouble installing. made sure everything was tight and good.
from previous experience (i had a ws2 on me ek) it was a pretty quiet exhaust and it would sound nice when i would get on it. my friend also has one on his 02 ex and its the same deal
on her car ITS PRETTY LOUD. louder than normal. or that i feel it should be in low rpms its a deep rumble.its pretty nice. but its the rumbling thats bugging me, it rumbles when you let off the gas, you feel a vibration like there was an exhaust leak, or like it was rubbing against something .
is it like this on all ep3? or is it deeper since its a K-series.?
im going to try and get some soundclips tomw
just wondering if you guys can point towards what might be the problem

leave the car running and check underneath for leaks. Place your hand near where the pipes connect to see if you feel any air, if you do then you have a leak.
I seem to notice that K engines are louder than B engines, especially in the 2-3K RPM range. If the muffler had a lot of miles on it, some packing may have been lost. It should still be quieter than a N1 style muffler though.

you said the can is used right?
did you try to shake the can/resonator? if there's feels like something is moving around that could means the "mufflering" material is loose/gone
