Default Offset

So, I looked through a bunch of posts but I'm still not sure of the answer. If I want
my wheels to tuck better I should go with a higher offset right? Right now I have 205/40/17 with 40 offset and they rub my fenders! I want to lower the car more but my fender is eating my tire.

try some 35's... the bigger the series number the taller the tire.

If you want them to tuck more, go with 45+ offset and a slight drop of course. OR, you may want to try adding some camber, that's what I did.

Have you tried rolling your fenders? And also as mentioned earlier, adding some camber could possibly alleviate your rubbing problems.

If you change the aspect ratio of a tire, you'd also have to change the width of the tire. If you were to change it to a 35, the tire size would have to be in the region of a 225/35/17, which would probably just make the rubbing issue worse, not to mention the cost and availability of tires in this size.

I'm lowered at least 2 inches right now. I am low enough that I can't fit my finger between my tire and wheel well. The sleeves I got are supposed to be able to drop it 4" and I am roughly halfway. I think I will try and dial in some camber fro now but I need to get new wheels anyway, so I will probably go with a larger offset when I get there.
