Default oil question for b16a2

What would be some good economical oils and filters to use for a b16a2? What would be a good amount of oil to put in when you do an oil and filter change?

I use Castrol GTX + Honda OEM filters

Put in about 3.5-4 first, then just check the dipstick and fill it till it gets to the "top dot"

i was currently using 5w30 penzoil peak performance with the penzoil filter. Is 5w30 to light of an oil or is just a preference thing?

5W-30 is the recommend viscosity for your engine. Basically any decent 5W-30 oil and oil filter will serve you just fine, assuming you maintain reasonable oil change intervals.

10w30 of any good brand (castrol, quaker state, valvoline, penzoil)

10w30 is better in summertime than 5w30.

honda oem filter or wix

5w30 is thinner when it's at temperature. thicker more consistent oil will coat.

I use whatever oil/filter the dealer puts in for me because I'm too lazy to do my own changes anymore.

5W-30 is only "thinner" at low temperatures. It is fine (indeed, recommend) all year long for the majority of US climates.

I realize that it is fine all year long for the "majority" of climates, but 10w30 is still more suited to summer time driving and 5w30 is more suited for winter time driving.

I don't intend to be argumentative, but both perform like 30 weight oils at operating temperature, so what would make 10W-30 more suited to summer use in your opinion?

I use Mobil 1 Synthethic ( Honda Dealers Use this) & Fram or K&N Oil Filter

Best Motoring also suggests you change your Tranny Oil when you do an oil change as well......
