5W-30 is the recommend viscosity for your engine. Basically any decent 5W-30 oil and oil filter will serve you just fine, assuming you maintain reasonable oil change intervals.

5w30 is thinner when it's at temperature. thicker more consistent oil will coat.
I use whatever oil/filter the dealer puts in for me because I'm too lazy to do my own changes anymore.

5W-30 is only "thinner" at low temperatures. It is fine (indeed, recommend) all year long for the majority of US climates.

I realize that it is fine all year long for the "majority" of climates, but 10w30 is still more suited to summer time driving and 5w30 is more suited for winter time driving.

I don't intend to be argumentative, but both perform like 30 weight oils at operating temperature, so what would make 10W-30 more suited to summer use in your opinion?
