Here in the West Coast we also had Honda Challenge at Buttonwillow. Where are the report and pics??? Show the East Coast boys that we can compete with their blingtastic shiny cars.
BTW, congrats to Thawley on his first win!

Not my first, but the other ones were almost as much of a gift. Thanks anyway.
Saturday, Michael Lee smoked the H1 field in Ryan's old car. Lee is a former SM guy (turned straight) who lives in Bakersfield, so BW is his home track. Mike Garcia (with his wicked new paint jobbed Accord) had issues and DNFed. Sam Higashi rented Ryan's H4 car and entered in H1 so he could stay in the points battle. I should have sailed to an easy 2nd over him, but chose instead to make it more interesting by driving off the track twice on the first lap and letting Sam pull an enormous lead. It took the rest of the race to reel him in for a last lap pass. I got 2nd place "the hard way."
Sunday, I was still driving like a clown and watched the top-3 H4 cars run away and hide. Sam Rothchild and I were in our own little world of fun behind the leaders. Lee and Garcia both had issues and did not start. So I got first in H1 and Higashi got second (along with 90 points) by default.
In H4, Jeremy DNFed on Saturday. He had a fuel fire at the banjo fitting on the filter. It burned a good bit of wiring and took him the rest of the day and all morning Sunday to fix. He started Sunday's race at the back of the grid and we all gave him plenty of room to catch Edo and Ryan. I'm not sure if Edo spun before or after Jeremy got by him, but I do know that I couldn't see a damned thing thru all the dust exiting Star Mazda. [I just learned that Edo WAS leading when he spun....] Big congratulations to Jeremy for a hard fought and well deserved first place.
Special thanks to Dave and Will for helping me out last weekend. (And for not accepting Higashi's bribes to keep me off the track and out of the points...)
EDIT: Jeremy DNFed from second place on Sat. and Edo was race leader before his spin on Sunday.

My thoughts exactly. I'm in it for fun. And while competition/being competitive IS fun, its not the first priority when I go racing.

Spoken like a truly married man....
Seriously, you put your life on the line everyday. People get killed everyday driving on the street or even walking.
If I die doing what I love, I die happy.

ECU/VTEC issues. And sand in his panties. He's just not happy unless he's fast. Not just faster. FAST.
