Default piston to vavle clearance with ctr cams

I built a basically stock ls vtec with a b18b block and a gsr head, I would like to know if there is enough valve relief to put in ctr cams? anyone have exp. with this?

I'm not quite sure about that. I'm using ITR cams in mine and I was told that if I don't mess around with the cam timing too much, that I would be fine.

i was hoping for this. if i left the cams set at o,o they would be fine.

so you do have itr cams with this setup and you are ok then?

you have a stock block like me?

i have the oem head gasket, oem block and head unmilled.

If you want to find out how crazy you can get with the engine follow the link to C-Speed Racing in this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1657574

It will show you how to clay your engine to see how far advance/ retard you can go.

I'm using a stock B18A block and as far as advancing, I can only advance it a little bit, no where over 4 degrees, I think. It changes if you use VTEC pistons instead of the stock Non VTEC ones as the valve reliefs are much deeper.

right, yeah i cant really clay my motor now so..i just want to be sure before i throw in a ctr intake cam. i plan on leaving the cams on stock timing. so gsr exhaust side and ctr intake side.
