88 carb rebuild
I'm a Caddy person, so I'm treading on new ground here. But a friend has an 88 Accord, and it has issues. It loses power going up a hill, and it occassionally stalls. Also, when shutting it off, it will sputter a bit before stopping completely. Some "mechanic" supposedly fixed the idle so it would start. It idles a little over 2000...which seems to me like he cranked the idle somehow to keep it running.
So anyhoo, sounds like the carburetor to me. I'm used to fuel injection. I'm getting the service manual for this thing shortly, but I thought I'd ask here and see if I could pick up just some general tips, do's and dont's on rebuilding this carburetor...or whatever else could possibly be an issue. Plugs and wires and the easy tune-up stuff have been done on it.
Oh, and since I've never really worked on this sort of setup before, please assume I'm stupid just in case lol.
