'88 Accord LX Carb'd - idle issues
picked up an '88 accord for the kid.. runs great, but idles a bit rough when it warms up. on the way home with the car, it died on us at a stop light.. started right back up.. got it home, checked all the vacuum lines, replaced pcv valve, changed fuel filter, checked the selenoid on the back of the carb, sea-foamed/carb cleaner'd the bejeezus out of it.. still dies when it's warm.. rpms seem to drop quite a bit when the tranny's downshifting (auto 4 spd).. or, it'll die when you pull in to park it..
so I adjusted the idle up a few hundred rpms.. now it idles pretty high when choked, but doesnt die when warm.. BUT! now it surges real bad, between 1000-2500 rpm..
any ideas? new carb? clean idle jets maybe? I told my wife to get something FI'd damnit.. cripes
thanks

Re: '88 Accord LX Carb'd - idle issues (Aerik)
vacuum leak at the carb to intake manifold mounting area known as a insulator, its rubber coated metal plate . replace with a new one, only available from a dealer.
