Default power window help!! (99 civic ex)

hey, guys I have a problem with my drivers side window, it appears it got off track and is now going in to the weather stripping. On top of this, the window is now stuck halfway and wont respond to the switch. Now, I plan on working on this tonight, and I had a few questions for you guys, one can i take out the door panel even though I can't roll down the window? Second how would I go around doing this, Ive searched but im still kind of confused.
TIA

I've got a '97 EX Coupe and have had the same thing happen.

This link really helps:
http://autorepair.about.com/li...d.htm

Refer to the repair procedure at the bottom of that link~

Good luck!

remove panel. then make sure its still attached to the track. look for clips and screws sitting in the bottom of the door

take the panel off and the glass out. clean the inside of the rubber track and glass thouroughly with electronics cleaner and lubricate with silicone spray. pop the window back on the track and try that. if it still pops off you may need a new window regulator.

I don't mean to jack the thread, but my windows go up and down VERY slowly. What could that possibly be? A regulator or my battery?

its because the tracks are all gunked up, clean them out and lube them with silicone and they should work fine

i just recently picked up a complete motor and assembly on ebay for 100 bux......new....but when i took some silicon spray to all of the tracks......everthing was fine......here are a few things to check, i've had three si's and they have all had the same problem.....clean your windows, put silicon on your tracks......and i have to bump mine up and down a little bit to keep them on track......i also have old *** tint on my windows......and its not that difficult to change the window assembly.....

you have to pop off the door panel then pull back all the plastic that has a kinda of glue substance rtv kinda **** on it.....just spray some silicon and it should be straight.....pull on the window until it goes up and down again....they are notorious for coming off track....

Default Thanks

I've been having this problem too. I thought i had it fixed by spraying lubracant down the tracks and it would work for a day and then it would start binding on top. Does anyone know if I can bring this in for a recall? My problem that I can see is that I have to get some silicon lub for the front run channel and rear because my fronts rubber channel is popped out of place.

theres a bolt in the bottom left and right corner 10 mm it goes to the track. makes it easier to put window back on track. before u put it back u should run a flat head thru it to make sure there are no obstructions. sometimes the rubber inside the track can become warped from combination of heat and the window coming of the track. i had ths problem had to mess with it several times to get the problem solved
