Default Those of you guys with RM cams. How do you like it? yay? neh? What material is it made out of?

i'd like to hear your opinion on your RM cams.
i seen RM cams break in pieces before. and i am kinda scared to be honest.
I know they are using a blank from some other company. was it Crower ? i forgot
what material is it made of? i am guessing it's solid as. not hollow.
what could cause the cam to break? improper installation or just the failier of the material due to the ultimate stress?

i'm about to install my M22xx

please share your experances

please let me know why you chose it

I've only seen one set of the RM cams break and Rocket took care of that immediatly. They are made of Crower blanks and the lobes are treated to reduce wear. Crower has been making camshafts for years and years, I personally would have allot of confidence in running them. IMO they are some of the highest quality cams you can buy, and in the proper motor, can and will produce very good numbers.

I personally don't work for Rocket no. I'm seriously wondering why the negative votes??? Maybe cuz people think that RM is hyped and are tired of seeing me post stuff about them?

Yeah I run the M22's. I have a stock b16b and my dyno was 170@8,700 with a stock air box and exhaust manifold. I'm over-cammed right now, I'm about to buy a Toda header though and have it retuned and compare the graphs. I'll post em. What I think is kinda fucked though, and my roomate pointed this out(he had to show my "tuner" where to add and take fuel away) but I had a AEM fpr on my car right. I took it out of the box and bolted it on the car without adjusting it. When we put the car on the rollers, the more fuel he added, the more it made but he got to a certain point where he didn't feel comfortable adding anymore fuel, so we stopped at 170. He didn't have anything that was measuring the duty cycle(that I knew of) so we called it a day. I'm half tempted to have it retuned cuz that fpr was almost all the way shut, we'll see.

I wanna see these people that vote "It sucks" to back up their explanation. Otherwise it's useless.

I loved mine. I had m22s with:

GSR block
PR3 pistons
STOCK OBD0 B16 head
AEBS INTAKE MANIFOLD
ANR HEADER

187whp/131TQ with a VAFC and a Chipped ROcket Motorsports ECU. NO ENGINE MANAGEMENT . I bet with Crome or Uberdata i would have made 190+whp.

To Rocket

BTW: PM rocket if you have any questions or EMAIL him. He backs his products 100000000%. There is always 2 sides to every story. He doesnt post much on ehre anymore
