b18c bone stock with obd-1 conversion misfires/hesitates/sputters at bit when I am CRUISING between 3000-5000 rpms. No problem at full throttle! I have done the following: distributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, ALL THE STUPID ****!!! HELP!!!! Why is this happening......I need b18c WIZARDS to reply!!! I HAVE ENDLESSLY SEARCHED THREADS FOREVER!!!
I would look at your fuel system, maybe a problem with the tps or something. Sounds like a part throttle fuel delivery problem to me. Only problems at part throttle? Everything is ok at idle? What ECU are you running?

it sputters/stutters between these rpm, UNLESS i AM AT full TROTTLE.....100%.....the idle is a little off, but after the motor reaches Temp, the iacv does not function.........could a TPS be the problem here?.....I am hopefully going to get to my valve adjustment today.......hopefully that doesn some thing....thanks guys

I'm thinking tps, its really easy to check the signal, and if you originally had a d series and you still have it, that tps SHOULD work as a replacement, mine did, and i'm pretty sure most are interchangable, but i wont say all because i'm just not sure. hope this helps
I dunno how handy you are with a multi meter but heres hows you can test the signal. Get a multi meter and find some sort of pin or something to back probe the connector. Take the positive lead and probe the middle wire on the 3 wire tps connector. Then connect the neg lead to a good ground on the motor. Turn the key on but don't start the engine. Your looking for a range of .500 Volts(throttle closed) to 4.5 volts(WOT). Good luck.

but the tps has to be drilled out to be removed, right?.....it is integrated with the throttlebodyunit

when i had problems with my b18c tps, i swapped on my d15 tps, it was the same part, but the d series had it rivited in, and my b18c was bolted on, so all i had to do was drill the heads off the rivits, took like a minute, and unbold the one of my b series, and bolt the d15 tps on, so the short is answer is yes, but its no biggie

do you think the valves could be causing this problem?....the motor has got to be around 60,000 miles now and i have never done an adjustment on the valves......its just that they are so quiet still, i didnt think they needed adjusting....then again.....i beat the everliving **** out of this motor EVERYDAY
its not the valves, just swap your tps, if it was the valves the throttle position wouldn't matter. and don't beat on it so much, i know its fun, but you want it to last too, even these motors that are made to rev high can only take so much

damn....it wasnt my tps.........no change in the misfires........i guess the iacv and valve adjustment are the next few thing on the list......****!!!! wtf is wrong with my motor!
