ls/vtec .. help! thanks
ok guys i got my LS longblock today (95 integra b18b1) and im getting a b16a head also a b16a transmission (lsd) .. now many people are saying to swith ur LS water/oil pump to b16a .. is that a true fact? what ive read people are saying to keep the LS water/oil pump and some others say to change.. so im confused and want to the the right answer.? thankss!
Since you have an OBD1 non-VTEC longblock, you want a VTEC oil pump. Your options are an OBD2 oilpump (OBD2 B18C/B18B/B20B oil pumps are the same), or OBD1 VTEC oil pump (different than OBD1 non-VTEC pumps).
I have never used a B16 oil pump, part #'s are different, so I would just stick to an OBD2 B18 oil pump.

You need both to be vtec parts. There is a difference in the number of teeth. You can use either OBD-1 or 2 parts. However, if you use an OBD-2 oil pump then you will need a new lower timing belt cover. The bottom lip of the OBD-2 is thinner...
