Default CTR or ITR

ok guys.. sorry to be like an idiot but ive done my research and i still cant find out how 1.6L(CTR pistons) go into a LS(1.8).. people do it.. but how? what do i need to do in order it to fit? because shouldnt the piston (1.6) be a little bigger to fit a 1.8.. i dont understand how to do it.. someone please explain thanks alot! btw im planning on building a ls/vtec.. but just wonderin wut pistons i should use .. THANKS!

Oh wow... B series stock bore is 81mm, with the exception of B20's which are 84mm. 1.6L and 1.8L are both 81mm bore. Don't get the CTR pistons, the huge dome causes the combustion to not propagate like it should. Go with ITR pistons, or a B20 block with 84mm RS Machine ITR replicas.

actually P30's would be your best bet. lighter, smoother and basically the best for combustion.

where can i get p30's? ive researched about them but cant find where it would be sold at? Thanks!

the reason why they pistons can work in the b18s and b16s interchangeably is that the bore is the same size. What makes b18s bigger in displacement is only stroke. At least that's what I've gathered by talking with people and reading on here
