Out where i live Long island, no shops do manual swaps .... For almost 2 months i couldnt drive my 2000 lude, so uh.. im gettin my auto rebuilt.. $2300 parts+labor+1 year warranty, extra $250 for a 3 year warranty. Everything was destroyed in it pretty much.

But .. even tho its too late, IS it possible to change gear ratios? or any other performance things to an auto tranny during a rebuild? Other than better material perhaps?


off topic question. I got the car at 30k miles it now has 62k, Should i get new plugs/plug wires? If so What kind? NGK iridium? etc ..thanks guys

 

nope, not possible to change gear ratio's unless you sent your tranny off to a custom tranny shop and paid them to fab you some gears which = Mega money.

with 62k on the tranny, isnt there still a warranty?

 

I thought they fixed the problem in 2000? and it should've been covered under warranty shouldn't it?

I just changed my spark plugs to NGK iridium's.

 

I bought the car used from some guy like 3 years ago, i never had the warranty papers or whatever. And the dealers also said with all of my mods .. itll easily void the warranty anyway.. thanks guys

 

tow your car to the ferry and over to ct or ny and get the swap done

 

Why not just buy another auto tranny??? You could get one easy for $500 or less shipped... I'd do that before I got one rebuilt.. :S
Even if it was used.. If it went bad, buy another.. Still be cheaper..

 

well this stinks, uhm i just got it rebuilt, picking it up friday ( tomorrow) spent 2500 with a 3 year warranty.

 

thats cheap for a honda rebuild on a tranny. when i blew my tranny on my civic years ago once place wouldn't even do it and another said 4k and thats before they even looked at it

 

All 2000-2001 Prelude auto transmissions have a factory 100,000 mile warranty.

Good luck with your rebuild, I have never heard one good rebuild story for these transmissions.
