what tool do you guys use to take the main cap bolts off?
as the topic said, i was using my impact gun to take the main cap bolts off ight..i took most of them out but there is one that i can not get it out and its getting a little bit strip due to my socket broke on me.. you guys think that i should use a breaker bar to take that sucker out, because that bolts has been sitting there god know how long..and its tight to 86 pound of tourque...any suggestion would be highly appreciate..thanks here are some pics

your air gun might not be as strong as u think it is...
i know i remember reading a write-up somewhere where they took a one size smaller socket and heated it up the end....then pounded it onto the bolt...let it cool...then turned that bolt out. thats if the bolt is getting stripped...
you still need some muscle to get it to turn a little bit...call yo daddy into the garage.

i used my impact wrench to take it off but all it was doing it was heating up the socket and stripping the damn bolt.. so i guess im going to have to cut the head off the bolt.. so i can take it out.. thanks a lot anyways guys

yeah seriously, they should jsut torque it hand tight,

they are torqued to 86 pounds because who ever owned the motor before me did torque down that way....i dont know what the hell he was thinking.. but they can not be tight by hand because this has a torque spec and you have to follow, image if one of those bolts are not tight enough and the crankshaft comes out of place while you reving at 8500..what could happen

your the ******* moron who said 86 genius, and i was making fun of your dumb *** for complaing about bolts being torqued too tightly on an engine block, it's something called sarcasm, but thats obviously beyond your mind capacity

And i guess its to much to ask to torque something like a main cap bolt to spec when assembling an engine.
