sezied bolts
well i was trying to lower my EH. The front went pretty easy but the rear is a pain in the ***...the bolts that hold the shock to the LCA...i think....is rusted and will not move. ive tried everything. my question is where would i go to get the bolts torched out and what would have to be replaced if i did get it torched out? thanks

Re: sezied bolts (MI4DC2)
did you try an impact gun? If you dont have access to one then just go buy some PB blaster and soak that bolt with it and let it sit over night. Then go and try it again.
If you do decide to torch it, you may need to get a new bushing for the LCA. If you do that, then might as well get them all replaced while your at it.

Re: (MI4DC2)
I have a similar problem with my lower rear tie bar. Can't get the damn bolt off. I've been spraying WD-40 for awhile now, maybe I will try this PB-Blaster that you guys are talking about...

haha...it happened to me b4 when i was having trouble with my rear...my front was slammed and the rear was stock up in the sky
i hope you get out of your dilemma though. what i did is replaced the whole lca. even with the bolt loose i cannot take it out of the strut fork. new lca is like $25 a pop in the junkyard

go to honda and get two new bolts and two new bushings, if you have to torch it, you will end up melting the bushing. i had to do it to both rears on mine. Better idea since at some piont you will prolly upgrade again is get some type r rlca's and then struts to fit those cuz you don't have a bushing there to get seized too.
It all depends on where you go and what you plan on retaining that will change the attack on getting that **** off

Damn, if your using an impact gun and it still wont come off then you either have a weak gun or a really really really seized up bolt.
Anyway, just keep spraying it with PB blaster and if it doesnt budge then take it to a tire shop and have them break it loose with one of there big impact guns.

dood ...if it was me just get new lca from junkyard case closed. if you buy new bushing you have to insert it and remove/torch the old one rite? and this in itself is not a cakewalk. you need a presser or something. it's metallic and not just rubber insert.
you can go to junkyard and buy lca and get a sack of bolt/nut for free! a bolt in the honda dealership will cost you a fortune. bushing is like $15 each when i went to the dealership.
the junkyard here has a pair of lca that i returned if you're interested. i bought the integra one that has a rear sway link.

Re: (apm)
I had the worst time with my 94 CX's lca bushings. I sprayed them for a week with 3 diff penetrating oils (aerokroil as one, its industrial **** ONLY sold in huge bulk), no dice. Used a regular consumer-grade impact@100psi...all it managed to do was rip the rubber of the bushings, twirl the bolt, and bend the front fork of the shock out. Ruined that welded on nut before I knew it was bending.
I managed to get it and the other bolt out by sawsall'ing both ends of the nuts off. After that get a copping saw and hack through the bushing. BTW - those bolts are hard mothers. They ate 2 blades before I busted out the torch-brand blades. Cut like butter.
Moral of the story - after 8 winters worth of Wisconsin roads, the bolts can get really messed up.

Re: (MI4DC2)
sorry to hear that. I am in the same position. I said **** it and i bought new lca's. Make sure you order some new bolts. Use a torch on the bolt to free it up a bit and just work it out. There is really no other way. I have been working on one side in the rear for 2 weeks off and on. ITs at a friends house and i cant get there all the time
