I have a 2 door civic coupe ex that I just crashed and I want to pull my catback exhaust off of it, and put it on the new 2 door civic coupe dx that I just bought. Its the same year, I was just wondering if that would be possible?

Then how come the exhaust company has different exhausts for different ones?

I've never seen a DX exhaust system (I have an EX). I think what the previous guy who posted was saying that you need to use your EX cat. You may need to use you entire EX exhaust system (header, cat, etc).

Well I have the stock ex system to put back. The exhaust that I am talking about is a custom APEXi exhaust.

The difference is in the header & cat location.

EX puts the cat under the car whereas the DX puts the cat on the front of the motor.

If you put your EX header & cat onto your DX your custom exhaust will bolt right up.

depends on the years of the cars. you gota think about OBD1 and OBD2. its true like nota-eg said. but the thing is you will have to use a set up from a obd2 ex if your dx is obd2. if the dx is obd1 and the ex is obd1 then they will bolt right up. obd1 to obd2 will be hard to do. the thing i want to know is what are the years of the cars. that would help alot

Just switch out your header, cat, and exhaust from your EX onto your DX and you'll be good to go.

well i didnt see that part. the thing i was getting at is that the obd1 cars only have one o2 sensor. the obd2 have 2 o2 sensors. if you use a obd1 cat on a obd2 car there wont be a whole for the second sensor that all.
