Default Pounding the engine head

So i was trying to get a nut off the exhaust studs, and the only way to get the stripped nut off, was to pound a socket into the nut......well i was POUNDING the nut to the point i thought i was gonna warp the stud and even worse, the head. Can the engine take a beating like this? for some reason my car is SLOWWW and i dont know why. I literally took a hammer to the exhaust stud/nut and thought i was gonna break the engine head.

i'd be afraid that it'd crack. Get a broken bolt extractor.....i'd rather spend 10 bucks on that than 250 on a new head.

run your finger along the head. If you feel a crack or something, then u did it. It'll leak when u get her running anyways. U'll see.
