Help with 88 Accord Carburetor
i have an 88 honda accord lx 2.0 that needed a new carb, so i went down to the local autozone and ordered one. Well, im a 22 year old college students who doesnt know a whole lot about cars, but i wanna fix this myself because i dont have much money. i was wondering if anyone could send me a diagram of how the carburetor should look once its on and any advice for working with carburetors? also, there was a part on my carburetor, a plastic wire plug of some sort that comes on the carb and connects to something outside the carburetor, a hot wire of some sort. well i found the other plastic piece that it plugs/connects with, but the wire on the plastic plug outside the carb has been cut and isnt connected to anything...and im not really sure what wire originally came from. i was curious if anyone knows what wire is supposed to connect to the plastic plug that has to be connected to the carburetor? thanks, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

good luck man i had an 89 dx hatchback and the only way i was gonna touch that thing was if i was taking out the emission controls and puttin a weber 32/36 in, that plug should be your carb heat... go to 3geez.com and they should set you up n/p.
I see 2 wires...

#4 is the choke heater, it'll want power whenever the engine is running.
#30 is a fuel valve, but I don't know where that circuit goes. The car had an oxygen sensor, so that valve is probably controlled by some kind of ECU.
Since the carburator will be new, you can probably just bolt it on. I'd get a good repair book (www.Helm.inc) to read about setting idle mixture. You may have to adjust it based on some feedback from the ECU.

i helped a friend put a new carb on his 89 corolla. Its not a honda but i can give you some advice on it.
#1 LABEL ALL VACUUM LINES AND THEIR LOCATION!!!!! ITS A MUST
#2 REMOVE THE CARB (its a few bolts that hold it down and some other misc. items)
#3 REPLACE GASKETS
#4 REINSTALL NEW CARB
I know that is far from a step by step, but its all i know. #1 would be the first and most important step if you ask me
