My first problem with my boosted car and its not even the tranny (Go figure)... I was driving like a couple of weeks ago when all of a sudden my car shut off. I took off my valve cover and noticed my INTAKE CAM was like 90 degrees advanced traced it to a locked up Water Pump. Bought a new timing belt and water pump drove fine for like 5 days then my car shut off again. Once again i noted the INTAKE CAM advanced like 10 degrees.(Aquired NEW CAMS AND CAM GEARS so I put those in while i was at it.) I put EVERYTHING back to TDC and put the timing belt belt back on. Started first try and within 10 seconds it shut off again. TIMING SKIPPED AGAIN. I am running into a dead end ANY HELP would be much appreciated.
it might not be your timing belt or your water pump... might be your DISTRIBUTOR, its connected at the otehr end, if tis encountering a lot of resistance and then snappinf forward or something, i dont know
maybe bad tensioner pulley/wheel, spin it make sure its smooth.
new timing belt??? sometimes they stretch just a tiny bit< espescially if ur h20 pump siezed but, i doubt you would have reused that belt again well at least i hope you didnt
its not a good to take any chance with a B
how much tension header side< there should be NO slack
i find i have to play with b-series alot to get what i feel is a proper fit.
