Default 88 Honda Accord Ecu?

So i picked up this 88 Accord Lxi (Fuel Injected) for a 100 bucks. We put a a lot of work into this car and finally got it running for me. It ran great for the first month or so, then my girlfriend accidentally drove it into a lake (the front tires were only about a foot in the water), so we got a tow truck to pull us out. Got it out, and it started right up, i drove it down third street and it started overheating. It had cracked the radiater pretty bad underneath, so i parked it and towed it home the next day. Fixed the radiater and the gas tank strap that broke, started fine like usual and ran fine. I drove it about 2 miles and the damn timing belt broke on it. That put a major dent in my plans for the car. So i towed it home again, i have another 88 accord for parts, so i took off their heads, switched the valves out on them...and out the good head back on my honda. I got a new timing belt for it, and put that on, and got it running really good. I was working on filling up the radiater when it just died. We couldnt figure out why, so we pushed it in the garage, and put it on the lift because we figured that maybe goin down all those rocks into the lake knocked the fuel pump loose. Took the gas tank almost all the way out, and tried the fuel pump, sure enough it worked fine and was pushing gas to the injector rail. Put the gas tank back in...and i found out about the little ECU thingy under the drivers seat, and i counted the flashes, it flashed 6 times. They say its the Coolant Sensor, sure enough the wires were ripped out of the plugs. We rigged em up to see if it would work like that, and it did. It started and ran great...then it just died out of nowhere. Go look at the LED light, and its blinkng 7 times...so we mess with the wires for the coolant plug(s)? and it stops blinking...so it started and ran fine. Then 2 minutes later it died again. The light was flashing 7 times, then it flshes 6 times sometimes. We tried bypassing the sensor, but it doesnt work, it doesnt work when you conect them to the sensor either, the light still just blinks 6 times. We just cannot figure out what is wrong with this thing...we've tried what seems everything...if any of you know anything please let me know, thanks in advance

Sounds like my girlfriend rubbing my civic against the bumper of a suburban.

You need to double check your wiring again. Unless the computer got wet i really doubt it is the problem.
Good luck with that. I bet you have other broken wires in there somewhere. (or bad sensors)

Do you know if theres any way to bypass that coolant sensor? We tried hooking the wires directly together, but that didnt seem to work...

Check the resistance across the sensor itself and check the reading it's getting with the key on (be sure it has the 5V refrence signal)

ok, so i hooked up the wires back to the sensor...and now the light blinks 7 times. I read that this means the TP Sensor. Can anyone tell me where that is located, and if it can just "go out" out of nowhere?

the throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body. Double check the wiring going to that.

Could the coolant sensor have gone bad?

Heres the latest, so i messed with the wires with the TPS and it stopped blinking seven times, and went back to 6. Theres another sensor by the coolant sensor, so theres two sensors that got the wires ripped out of the plugs. So we had the wires directly connected to the little prongs in the plug itself. (See i have a parts car, but its a LX and not fuel injected and it didnt have the same connections) but then i realized i have a 88 honda civic thats out back too, so i went back and looked at it and sure enough, it had two of the little connectors that i need. They wernt from the coolant sensor though, but anyways, i went back and wired them in my car. It still blinked 6 times, so i switched around two of the wires from each sensor. and it still blinked 6 times, i could really use the help of anyone with a 88 honda accord LX-i, i would like to know which wires go to which sensors. Also, do you happen to know what the sensor next to thte coolant sensor is? And could the coolant sensor have just gone bad without warning? Thanks a lot for your help so far...

If you could just tell me which color wires go to which plugs that would help me out a lot. There are two plugs, and they are both two different colors, and two wires go to each of them...that would help me out a lot man, thanks a lot for your help
