Default Question About Caster Plating

When I bought my car it pulled heavily to teh right. So I got like $2,500 of the dealer price cause it needed like new tires and alignment and break adjustment and crap like that.

At first I thought it was just the balded tires, got those replaced right after I got the car, turned out that my control arm bushings where gone and had those replaced, $300. During that the control arm knub or whatever it rests on was also gged and that was another $40.

Now I got all that done and my car still pulled to the right a bit, came back to Firestone, I got a liftetime alignment, they aligned it said it was fine. Drove back, still pulled. Came back the next day and bitched, finally they took a look at it and said that I needed new Caster Plates, the thing that hold the struts.

Here is where it gets tricky. Stock Caster plates cant be adjusted the way mine need to be to control the pull. Apparently my right wheel is set like 3mm back which causes the pull and it can be fixed with aftermarket caster plates which are more adjustable.

I dont know who the previous owner of the car was but my guess is that he hit a ****** curb parking or something to expletive it up. Anyway, how much does one set of Caster Plates run, where can I get find them.

I'm aware of one set of camber/caster plates, they're made in australia by Kmac. I don't know of anyone who's ever used them... they don't come cheap.

how much? I was told around $40-60 for one.

Does this sound legit? I am going to go to another Firestone and get a second opinion. Car doesn't pull that bad, mechanic insisted that its not causing any uneven tireware

$400 is a number that comes to mind.
$40-60 would buy you a stock upper mount, and not anything more.

A caster plate is like a camber plate but provides for caster adustment.... its slotted on the axis perpendicular to camber adjustment.
It typically is sold as a camber/caster plate which just has a large square open area so that both camber and caster can be adjusted.
