Default b18b into del sol B16 TRANNY!!

well i got the cash for the ls swap i wanted.. im putting it in a 94 del sol vtec.. thats the model with the b16.. im using the tranny from the b16 to make good use of the torque.. ive been sittin in my room for a while now lookin at all the posts on b16 vs b18b and everything about the trannys and i could give a **** less about gas mileage! its gonna be fun to drive it.
Anyway on with the post. the swap is a b18b obd-1. Am i going to have to make any MAJOR changes to the stock wiring harness that was in the car from the b16? the motor im getting has the wiring harness from the firewall up im assuming. any chance of that pluggin right up? Might be a dumb question i ono .. this is my first b-series swap..
Also, the motor is gonna have anywhere from 25,000 to 35,000 miles on it.. would it be safe to chip the ecu with it mostly stock.. its gonna be bone stock almost for a little while. what would be a safe rpm to rev to? keeping in mind that the b18b power band falls off pretty quick.. or should i just go ahead and get a stock p75 or pr4-same thing.
Feel free to comment if you feel im dumb for doing this swap into the targa top del sol which is quite a heavy little bitch weighing in at 2522 curb weight. mine has no ac, no power steering. thanks for any help in advance!

Well first off can a mod move this to the del sol forum..
Your del sol is obd1 so everything should plug and play
You'll prob wanna use the ls wiring harness since you wont need the extra plugs for vtec so you can sell that....
And prob sell your ecu unless you plan on goin ls/vtec if you just want an ls then pick up a pr4 or p75
No not a dumb swap LS w/ B16 tranny with good driver prob low 15's or high 14's so itll have some giddy up

Right now i have an ecu that is socketed.. so if you think its safe i can have a chip burned to whatever rev limit and just pop it in my ecu.. its a socketed p30

you cannot just change the revlimit on a stock head...you like valve float?

sure you can, but you will still be pushing the engine too hard after 6800 RPM

take your stock ls head to 8 or even 7500...lemme know in a couple of months how many valves you float and end up in piston to valve contact

k thanks guys.. i figured it prolly wouldnt be a good idea to chip a very much stock motor.. i guess ill just wait for skunk2 dual valve springs and then chip it.... oh yeah and i meant to ask .. the closest track to me is an 1/8 instead of a 1/4. someone up there said i could expect low 15's maybe high 14's if drivin right in a 1/4... anyone know what it could do in an 1/8.. im wanting to break 9.8 and ill be happy. lol
