Default HELP - Car stalled at idle and now won't start

b16a2 with 40kmiles. I went out to my car last night and it started right up. After about 1 minute of idle, occationally tapping the throttle and bringing it to 1500rpm, it sputtered out and died. Now it wont start at all. It kicks over, fuel pump is still pumping. (I checked at the fuel rail).

Spark plugs are white. I can't change them at the moment, but what else could be the problem.

Check to see if it has spark. The distributor ignitor may have went out.

My friend and i checked for spark a few ways. He touched a screwdriver on the distributor where the wire goes. That was such a good idea for him, it shocked hard. He said it wasnt a constant spark though, like it wasnt hitting sometimes.

Then we put the spark plugs in the wires, and set the them slightly inside the spark plug holes. Our goal was to clear out the chamber. It turned out to show us that the spark plugs are sparking, but only randomly. It was shooting blue flames out of the spark plug holes, definately not in a contant firing order. What could this mean.

No check engine light? It might have a crank or cam sensor problem. But usually if one of these goes out it will run, but rough. Timing belt might have jumped a tooth. Doubtfull w/ only 40k miles on it, but you never know.

Doubt that it jumped a tooth, the belt is tight. The car will not push start either. The sparks are VERY weak. Like a little static discharge....could this be the ignition coil?

Yeah, the ignitor coil or the magneto.
