Default tightening crankshaft bolt??????

what are the other ways of tightening the crankshaft bolt without using an airgun,i do not have the stock pulley so there is no key to use.

could you tighten it by putting a wrench on the bolt and cranking the motor?sounds like it would work but it also sounds like it would be bad on the crank, anyone truy this?

thanks

I did the starter trick. So far it has yet to fall appart. Just to short burst on your starter, don't hold it down. Oh, and disconnect your injectors.

You more or less explained it in your orginal post. Put a big wrench on it. Move it so it touches the ground. Then crank your starter, it will bang the wrench on the ground. The wrench won't be able to move so all the torque will be used to tighten the bolt. Just make sure disconnect your injectors.

Hope that explains it.

I have yet to incounter any problems. As for the injectors all you have to do is makre sure you engine won't start. If it does you will be in a world of hurt. You could also pull your plug wires but carefull where they ground out.

I really don't know how good this is for the engine but I personally don't care too much.

What I do is just unbolt the flywheel cover and jam a small screwdriver in there. Work like a charm everytime to remove the crank bolt or installing it back on.
