Default Starter Mounting Issues!!!!!

One one of the holes in my engine black where the starter is mounted.... it's stripped!!
I can only hold in one bolt for this! What should I do?

A friend of mine suggested "tapping?" or something similar.
Please explain any solution to this problem is you can. :/

Does your car start ok? If so then do nothing.

the car starts if the starter is mounted in, but there is an overwhelming fear that both bolts not locked onto the engine block could eventually cause the starter to break like the last one.

or do I not have to worry about that? (starter durability isn't something familiar to me)

I've been told to tap it.
How would this be done though? The only information I can give you is that the Hex bolt is 10mm.

Any information would be of use

Which bolt is it, the short or long? If its long you have to drop the trans to gain access. If its the short you could probably just get the correct tap size (go to a machine shop and bring them a bolt saying you need a tap kit for this type of bolt) and go to work.

Yep, if you call a dealership you can order the correct bolt for that particular car. Just give them the year & model, then explain which bolt you need.

If it's a swap (b16 engine + s21 transmission in a crx, etc.), just give them a year & model of a car the trans came with. They need to look it up on the parts list / diagram for the original car. Looking it up for your year/model won't do any good if your car didn't come from the factory with that transmission.

Though for all I know they're all the same size bolts... but always better to be safe than sorry...

just go to home depot and get a long bolt the same size as the bolt you have.

one of the bolts is like 3 inches long the other is like 4 maybe five?

but they are both the same size.
