Default BOV not opening at higher boost? Tried the usual...

Ok so I have a SSQV and this is the third year ive had it. I was only runing about 6psi previously and it would make a single high pitched chirp.

Im now pushing 13psi and it sounds basically the same at low boost but up high it lacks the distinctive chirp. It sound like compressor surge (flutter). I know there is two valves in the HKS but it sounds like the sound is coming from the side the turbo is mounted rather than the BOV sound so Im convinced something is wrong.

Ive tried the usual stronger vac source, no difference. Loosened the rear bolt, no difference.

Any other reasons I may be surging?

i have the exact same problem with the ssqv right now. at 5psi last year it was making the high pitched distinctive whistle. one year later at 8psi i can't even hear the whistle anymore .. just the flutter of compressor surge.

i didn't think that an hks product would break so early, but after trying many things i think i can assume its officially broken. i'm just going to replace it with a tial bov before my turbo takes a ****.

for my situation i'm thinking its a boost leak or hopefully its a boost leak. cuz when i gas it hard and let go i hear a weird hissing noise coming from the turbo side and nothing from the bov. and also in the 1/4 mile i'm losing almost 10mph trap speed

i heard theres a purple or gold inserts that come with them to make it louder. purple is for under 10psi and gold is for anything above.
