Remote Starter Problem
i have a 2002 honda civic. for some reason i am only able to start it with the remote starter and when i do the lights flash and there is a clicking sound in the car. if i try to start it with the key, nothing happens except for the same clicking and light flashing. i've had the car for about 3 months and i never use the remote starter, always the key, so i have no idea what could be going on. any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
I've never seen a Remote Starter kit for our specific model Civic. The "clicking and flashing" is just you locking/unlocking the door. Are you sure you're just not using the unlock/lock key fob that comes with most Civic's?
the clicking and flashing is not unlocking or locking the door. it happens when i turn the key in the ignition...the car doesn't start, the lights begin to flash both inside and out and a clicking sound also begins. after trying with the key a few times, i tried starting the car with the remote starter and it started, but when i took the car out of park the lights again began to flash along with the clicking. the car will not start with the key at all and i can't figure out why. when i start it with the remote starter, it starts fine, but the lights are still flashing and there is clicking.
also it sounds like your remote start system is not leting your ignition start the car the unit is creating an open at the igntion so only the remote will start the car also the unit it self might be bad look at the wireing too take a look at the condition of the wires if you know your wireing you might be abel to bypass it but then only your key will start the car but thats just an option
