Default Removing driver-side axle, help!

I can't manage to get my axle out of the intermediate shaft, any advice?

Coupla questions,

Will the bearing right there come apart if I'm not careful?

Is there some neat tool designed to fit in that space and pry it apart? I don't have a prying tool quite wide enough, I think. (it needs to fill the space between the meaty part of the u joint and the intermediate shaft brace/bearing)

I place a 3" C clamp between the intermediate and axle and hit the c clamp with a hammer. Works everytime in a few seconds and you dont have to take the intermediate out of the casing.
