b16a2...idle problem....help!

Default b16a2...idle problem....help!

my car idles fine when the weather is warm(morning- afternoon) it idles at 500 rpm. but when its cold(night) the idle jumps to 1000 then 1500 and back and forth,
i also here a whisling sound when i accelerate at night. do you guys think its a vacum leak? how do i fix that. peace

97 civic dx(all silver)

well, the whistling sound is more than likely that aem intake you have. Try setting your idle, hold the idle steady at 3000 rpm until the fan kicks on. Then disconnect your iacv sensor. The idle will drop dramatically, if your idle is too low, it will stall. You want to set you idle at 450 rpm with the iacv disconnected. Use the idle adjusting screw on your throttle body. Once the idle is set, turn the car off and plug in you iacv again. Reset the ecu and your idle should be at 750-800 rpm.
