Default Cold Air Intake

I just curious as to everyone opinion on cold air intakes. IM thinking about removing mine because today we had a hell of rainstorm. Next things u know i hit a huge puddle and my car dies. Luckily (unlike my friend who engine went boom the same way) i didnt suck up much water and jsut had to deal with a bit of light grey smoke for a few mins. Any suggestion on something what would be well safer are welcome.

P.s. If there has already been a thread on this pls forgive me.

its this easy, put it on when theres no rain, and put the stock one when there is rain.

if you really want to use CAI. get a bypass valve. but again that doesn t really do **** cuz your filter has to be fully submerged in the water for it to work

or get a nice intake system. like mugen and not worry about it. or use stock or cut your cai and make it a short ram or get a j's racing/ password whale male part
