Default Removal of my MSD ignition, back to OEM... do I have to change something in my EMS ?

Ok I have this stupid problem that I never had before since I installed my new turbo...

The problem is : If I just accelerate smoothly and get some boost ( like 5-6 psi ) and im not full throttle the car have some misfiring issues at precisely 3800-4000 and if im past this range and I floor the car or go mid-throttle to accelarate the car is super fine ! So I cant enjoy the benefit of my GT28RS...

Also some people say that ACCEL wire are ****... so I will get some new OEM plug wires... a new ignitor and a new rotor on the car tonight but I also want to remove all my MSD stuff since I dont really need it ? It will just be easier later if I have a trouble. I will also check all my grounds.

So if I remove all the MSD stuff and put my OEM coil back in the dizzy do I have to reprogram something in my AEM EMS ??? I dont know anything about that...

Also someone told me that it might be the vibration of the dizzy shaft/bearing that might be my trouble ?? What do you think about that ??

After that I will raise the boost to 20 psi that might be fun.

Thanks for the help !

Mat

hmm, thats 2 this week, i just took mine off too.

i was having misfire problems at 7000 no matter what i did, took it off and the car runs so much better. DO IT

you dont have to change anything in the EMS, you may wanna gap your plugs down a tad just in case, but you dont need to input any new values then what you had before

yeah i had a random misfiring problem above 6000rpm that wouldn't go away no matter what we did or tried.. then we got rid of the stupid MSD 6A box and everything was fine after that

well im sure that its NOT the MSD because I removed the SCI box and it doesnt change anything... the coil is brand new.

Tony1 told me that I will need to change something in the coil dwell or something like that. I may try it without any change but I dont want to fry my OEM coil lol

No problem, I got some in stock I'll try to remove it too tonight, all I have to do is disconnect the 2 wires from the 6AL and wire them to the external coil. 50% chance of not wiring them correclty

I run a chipped P28.

soooo finally I changed all my MSD stuff for the stock ignition, coil, distributor cap, new igniter, new OEM wires and it STILL do the same problem....

I begin to be sure that its a tuning problem because its always in the same range. Its around 4000rpm were my GT28RS is supposed to kick in so I assume that my tuner didnt set the map correctly....

Who could take a look at my map just to tell me if there is something wrong....

Thanks

Mat
