Anyway my clutch it slipping and i need a new one but I dont know how to tell what kinda tranny I have therefore I cant order a clutch! Is there anyway I can tell what kinda tranny it is by the serial number? I know the serial number begins with L3 if that helps at all? I really need to figure this out because my car is a daily driver and I need to fix the clutch ASAP! thanks alot for the help I hope I can figure this out! I know what brand of clutch im getting just cant order it till I find out what kinda tranny I have!
This link should be able to help. Just check out what kind of RPM's you are turning at say 60 mph in 5th gear.

L3 is an Si tranny. http://www.crxsi.com/specs.htm That site will help you alot more than trying to calculate the speed your going at 3000rpm in 3rd gear
. So order for an ef Si. By the way..I found that info in about 5 min using http://www.google.com There is internet beyond honda-tech.

l3 does not mean si tranny. I have a dx tranny with l3 on it. If you can hit 95+ in third gear its a dx tranny. Now here is the tricky question, What year?

I missed the point of the original post. He will need to know what year tranny to get the correct clutch. There was a thread on this very thing several months ago but it doesn't show up in the search. I have the info at home and can post it tonight if no one else does.
Thanks alot man! I can hit 95 in 4th so I guess its a DX thanks the info would be great! Now just to figure out what year it is?

no, no ,no If you can get up to 95 in 3rd gear its a dx if your in 4th then sounds like an si to me. measure the diameter of your flywheel. 200mm=88, 212mm=89, 220mm=90-91 i believe. I could be wrong though
The tranny code is usually written on a metal plate on the side of the tranny, where it mates with the engine block. That area is usually all covered in dirt/grease, but if you clean it off, you'll see it. It's been there for both of the trannies that I have looked at (89 CRX Si --> L3) and (87 Integra --> CG).

Im going to shot myself......ok I have found out that it dosnt really matter what tranny I have it just Matters what year it is and i cant figure it out.....im going out of town wed and wont be back for a week and when i get back I have high school grags the sunday i get back so I need to figure this **** out so i can run my car!
Just look for the stamp near the filler plug. If there is nothing there it is an 88. If it has markings (PL3/A300) then it is an 89-91. I hope this helps.
